Restoration Church launched in September of 2015. Below you will find an explanation of our core values: Restoration of the Broken, Corporate Worship, Authentic Community & Global Involvement. These four values shape the identity of the church.
RESTORATION OF THE BROKEN
Restoration Church values leveraging our resources for the restoration of lives, community & culture. We believe that humanity was created in Godʼs image and therefore has intrinsic value and dignity. Sin breaks and mars that image and wreaks havoc on all areas of life. We love seeing what has been broken restored back to the way God intended it to be. This restoration permeates from the individual to the marriage, to the family, to community, and through the culture.
There are two reasons that we gather to worship God together. First, we gather to remember & celebrate the gospel and the glorious resurrection of Jesus on the first day of the week. Second, we are forgetful people by nature. We need to be reminded of Godʼs faithfulness and continued work on a weekly basis. The church comes together as a corporate body to worship through a myriad of different services and activities . There are all sorts of ways that God is worshipped in this setting; prayer, singing, giving, serving each other, studying the Bible & spending time together are a few of those ways. For example...someone doesn't keep the nursery to enable other adults to attend a service without their kids, but rather we love each otherʼs kids and serve one another as an act of worship and response to Godʼs service and love towards us. Such a small shift if perspective makes all the difference and turns mundane service into worship.
Life was intended to be lived in community. There is nothing like being a part of a group where you both know and are known by those around you. The truest form of community is centered about the story of God. When you are redeemed you are also adopted into the family of God. This adoption forms a common bond that centers our relationships. Restoration Groups are simply small groups of people that live life in light of the gospel face to face and shoulder to shoulder.
As Christians we have the unique opportunity of participating in the global mission of God….the pursuit of His glory in the world. We must recognize that this mission is global not merely international. It is not just unfolding in third world countries or overseas. Instead, let us understand that taking cookies to your neighbor or loving your co-workers is participating in the same mission as moving to East Africa. God leads people in different ways and if youʼre participating in His mission we want to champion, equip and send out. Christians are a mission people. When God restores us to our intended purpose, his mission becomes our mission.
